Asus has unveiled its latest gaming smartphones today – the ROG Phone 7 and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
Available in Storm White and Phantom Black, the vanilla Asus ROG Phone 7 weighs 239 grams and has an IP54 rating for protection against splashes of water. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform with a 3.2 GHz octa-core CPU and an Adreno 740 GPU. The SoC is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The front is adorned with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display by Samsung with a resolution of 1080 x 2448 pixels. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victurs. The rear camera department is headed by a 50MP Sony IMX766 shooter with an f/1.9 aperture and 8K video recording at 24 fps as well as 4K videos at 60 fps. It is adjoined by a 13MP ultra-wide unit and a 5MP macro lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera outputting 8MP photos due to pixel binning. For a more immersive media and gaming experience, the ROG Phone 7 is equipped with symmetrical dual front-facing 5-magnet speakers with Dirac HD Sound and Cirrus Logic amplifier for a louder, deeper, and less distorted sound effect. Hi-Res Audio up to 384 kHz / 32-bit for 3.5mm output is also supported. The model runs on Android 13 and supports Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC. Power is supplied by a 6000 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. For India, the model arrives with a 30W charger in the box, while the other markets receive a 65W one. Asus OG Phone 7 Ultimate is available in Storm White and is slightly heavier than the vanilla model tipping the scales at 246 grams. It is in all other ways also identical to its sibling. However, the main difference is the AeroActive Cooler 7 which is included in the box of the Ultimate version. Its thermoelectric AI cooling system keeps the CPU super-cool to prevent game lag, and it sounds awesome too, turning your phone into a powerful 2.1 audio system. In addition to the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate, Asus also unveiled the ROG Phone Batman Edition.
