Huawei Mate X3 features improved design, two-way sat

Huawei Mate X3 has been presented today featuring an improved design. The front display and rear shell (on respective colorways) are covered with Kulun Glass which has proven its protective qualities and has been awarded five stars by SGS. The inner screen adopts a composite laminated structure and introduces a fluid material layer, which is strong when needed and soft when needed, so that the impact resistance is increased four-fold, and the ultra-impact flexible inner screen has obtained the world’s first Swiss SGS five-star impact resistance certification.

The body combines aluminum and carbon fiber to ensure strength and thinness. The device uses a new generation dual-spin droplet hinge that is also lightweight and thin. The new dual-track shaft direct drive unit is precisely linked and easy to develop. In addition, the Mate X3 is IPX8 rated for water resistance making it a rarity in the foldable smartphones market (only Samsung foldable offered this so far). The exterior display and the rear shell are gently curved on all four sides. The available colors include Feather Black, Feather White, Feather Purple with a glass rear shell and Dawn Gold and Dark Green with a vegan leather rear shell.

Huawei Mate X3 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2504 pixels, 10-bit color depth, LTPO backplane for 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1440 Hz PWM dimming, and oleophobic coating on the Kunlun glass. The flexible AMOLED inner display is TÜV Rheinland Color Accuracy Certified. It has a 7.85-inch diagonal size and a resolution of 2496 x 2224 pixels. The LTPO backplane ensures a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. 1440 Hz PWM dimming is available on this screen as well.

The smartphone has a standard edition with a 4800 mAh battery and a Collector’s edition with a 5100 mAh battery. It supports 66W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. Processing power is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset deprived of ist 5G connectivity. The chipset is aided by a cross-axis graphene heat dissipation system. The RAM capacity remains unknown but the UFS-type storage is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1024GB versions. It can be expanded with up to 256GB via a Nano memory card.

The camera department of the Huawei Mate X3 comprises an 8MP selfie shooter residing in the punch hole on the external display. It has an f/2.4 aperture and supports 4K video recording. On the back, there’s a 50MP main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. Finally, there’s a 13MP ultra-wide unit with a 120-degree FoV and an f/2.2 aperture.

The smartphone supports two-way BeiDou satellite communication, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6. It has an infrared port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 port with DisplayPort Alt Mode. The model is priced as follows:
