IFA 2023: Jabra announces two new earphone models

Jabra is taking advantage of the IFA 2023 show in Berlin to renew its range of high-end True Wireless headphones. The brand announced this Thursday the release of the Elite 8 Active and Elite 10, its two most efficient products to date, in its own words.

Both earbuds offer spatial sound, advanced active noise reduction (ANC), LE Audio technology and multi-point Bluetooth. However, if the Elite 10 are designed to offer “absolute comfort”, the Elite 8 Active above all highlight their “extreme resistance”.

Jabra Elite 10: headphones designed for comfort

Jabra believes that for users, comfort is the most important criterion when choosing headphones. This led the company to rethink the design of the Elite 10, giving them a semi-open design to avoid any blocked ear sensation. Added to this are super-soft, oval-shaped silicone tips that don’t dig into the ear at all.

This design change does not, however, impact the performance of the headphones. According to Jabra, the Elite 10s benefit from advanced active noise reduction technology allowing them to effectively eliminate ambient noise and automatically adjust to the environment. They also incorporate new 10mm drivers, and are the brand’s first headphones to include Dolby’s head-tracking technology. In order to provide the clearest calls, 6 microphones are integrated into it.

The announced autonomy is 6 hours with ANC activated and 27 hours with the case, which is also compatible with wireless charging.

The Jabra Elite 10 will be available this September at the price of 249 euros. Five colors are available: cream, cocoa, titanium black, glossy black and matte black.

Jabra Elite 8 Active: “the most resistant in the world”

According to Jabra, the Elite 8 Active are “tested to meet US military standards for robustness of electronic devices”. They are military standard 810H compliant, which means they are resistant to extreme temperatures, humidity, rain corrosion, as well as shock and impact. The headphones are also IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.

However, their robustness does not affect their sound quality. As Jbara points out, the Elite 8 Active offer powerful sound thanks to Dolby Audio technology. They also benefit from adaptive active noise reduction, 6 microphones for calls and a protective mesh against wind noise. And to keep them securely on the ears, their tips have Jabra’s signature ShakeGrip coating.

The Elite 8 Active offers up to 8 hours of battery life with ANC enabled and 32 hours with the charging case.

The Jabra Elite 8 Active are already available for sale at the price of 229 euros in four different colors: caramel, blue, black and gray.
