The new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are significantly cheaper to repair for certain parts. During the presentation of its new smartphones last week, Apple emphasized its efforts in terms of repairability. The Apple company has updated its website with information on the cost of iPhone 15 repairs.
We discover that a repair of cracked or damaged rear glass on all models in the iPhone 15 range can be carried out without AppleCare+ for a price between €199 and €229 depending on the model.
For the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, this represents a very significant price drop if we compare the prices charged for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. In fact, replacing the rear glass on an iPhone 15 Pro costs €199 while it costs €599 on an iPhone 14 Pro! For the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it costs €229 and €669 for the 14 Pro Max.

Apple more attentive to the repairability of its products
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max repairs are cheaper thanks to their new design. Apple uses a recycled aluminum substructure that makes glass replacement easier and lowers costs.
The lower cost is also reflected during the combined repair of a cracked screen and back glass damage. For the iPhone 15 Pro, this repair will cost €519 while the same repair on the iPhone 14 Pro costs €739. On the other hand, many other repairs, including replacing a battery, cracked screen, or repairing a rear camera, cost the same for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14.
Apple launched a self-service repair program for several iPhone and Mac models last year. Not all of the tech giant’s devices are easy to repair, however. iFixit gave Apple’s 2021 iPhone 13 Pro a repairability rating of 5 out of 10. The site found last year’s iPhone 14 to be the most repairable iPhone in years and gave it a awarded a rating of 7 out of 10.
