iPhone 15 Pro: here’s what you need to know about its new

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, announced today at Apple’s “Wunderlust” event, feature an Action button that will replace the Ring/Silent switch that’s been on the iPhone since the very first model (although it has been redesigned over the years).

A customizable button

By default, the Action button always toggles between silent mode and ring mode. Simply press and hold the button until you feel haptic feedback to switch between them.

However, you can go to your settings and customize the Action button functions. In addition to putting your smartphone on silent, you can launch the camera to take a photo, open your voice memos to record audio, or launch an accessibility feature.

Every time you use the Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro, you get visual feedback in the Dynamic Island.

The button will work similarly to Back Tap, which lets you tap the back of your iPhone to perform certain actions like turning on your flashlight or launching a Siri shortcut, without having to go into your iPhone.

The iPhone 15 Pro is priced from €1,229. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, available with a new storage capacity of 256 GB for the base model, costs €1,479.

All iPhone 15 models feature Dynamic Island (with the iPhone 14 series, this feature was exclusive to the Pro models) and USB-C charging.

Apple also revealed the Apple Watch Series 9, featuring a new double-tap gesture and an improved optical heart sensor, as well as the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra, featuring an improved display and a better autonomy. You can pre-order Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 today.
