Lenovo Legion Y70 goes official in China with a Snapdragon

The Lenovo Legion Y70 has been unveiled in China. This smartphone boasts flagship specifications, however it is stripped off of some high-end gaming features, and offers a sleek and more business-oriented design. Namely, it loses the elaborate cooling system (replaced by another one) and ultrasonic shoulder keys with all additional features. There is no USB Type-C 3.1 port as well.

The Lenovo Legion Y70 has a perfectly flat front and back with a frosted glass rear available in black, gray, and red colors. The front features a 6.67-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 111.3% DCI-P3 color space coverage, HDR10+ certification, and SGS certification. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor as well along with a punch hole for the 16MP front-facing camera. The rear camera department is headed by a 50MP shooter with 8K video recording, OIS, and EIS. There’s a 13MP ultra-wide snapper with a 120-degree FoV, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The Lenovo Legion Y70 is based on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 8GB/12GB/16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage that cannot expanded. The chipset’s performance is aided by a 36938 mm² cooling system with a 5047 mm² VC plate. Power is supplied by a 5100 mAh battery with 68W fast charging support. The smartphone is priced as follows:

  • 8GB+128GB (Silver / White) = CNY 2970
  • 12GB+256GB (Silver / White) = CNY 3370
  • 16GB+512GB (Silver / White / Red) = CNY 4270

In addition to the Legion Y90 gaming smartphone, Lenovo has presented the Legion Y700 gaming tablet. This device is built around an 8.8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.
