Xiaomi has just unveiled the POCO X5 series which comprises a vanilla and a Pro model. POCO X5 5G is built around a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports 8-bit color bit depth and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Its peak brightness hits the 1200 nits mark and the contrast ratio is 4.5M:1. The model also has an SGS certification for being harmless to the eyes. The device is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Processing power depends on the Snapdragon 695 chipset ticking under the hood. It is paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. The latter can be expanded with up to 1TB. The POCO X5 5G is fitted with a 13MP selfie camera and three rear shooters – a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide unit with a 118-degree FoV, and a 2MP macro lens. The smartphone runs on MIUI 13 for POCO and supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac. It has an IR blaster and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. POCO X5 Pro has a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED display, again with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate but with 10-bit color bit depth. It is also Dolby Vision certified with a peak brightness of 900 nits and supports 1920Hz PWM dimming. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The battery is again a 5000 mAh unit but with faster charging support – 67W. The snappy Snapdragon 778G chipset takes care of processing with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of expandable storage. The camera department is upgraded to feature a 108MP main camera with a 1/1.52″ sensor and 4K video recording. It is adjoined by the same 8MP ultra-wide snapper and 2MP macro lens. The selfie camera uses a 16MP sensor. The smartphone runs on MIUI 13 for POCO and supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.
