Redmi has presented on Weibo its 300W fast charging technology. Based on the technology used on the Redmi Note 12 Pro Explorer Edition which supports 210W fast charging, Redmi has made in-depth customization of battery materials, charging architecture, and charger modules, to achieve a 300W full-link magic transformation solution. As a result, there’s a 15C high-rate battery with extreme chemical power and a smaller in size Dual GaN charger with a higher power. The battery uses a new type of hard carbon material with a looser and less orderly structure thus providing a wider reaction pathway. The hybrid negative electrode helps achieve both higher charging speed and higher energy density. An ultra-high conductivity electrolyte is also used for improving clock ion mobility allowing for more control of the charging rate and temperature. Additionally, the battery structure employs a sandwich stacking scheme and the cells are filled with phase-changing materials that have stronger heat dissipation qualities and higher space utilization. With the new tech, a 4100 mAh battery can be charged in full in 5 minutes. The peak power measure during charging is as high as 290W and 280W levels last for up to 2 minutes. In that context, Redmi employs more than 50 safety measures for faster and safer charging. For example, each of the parallel charging pumps, which are increased in number, has an independent input overvoltage protection.
