A billion dollar series

If this teaser is still stingy with images, it nevertheless suggests the music composed by Howard Shore – composer of the Peter Jackson trilogy – and Bear McCreary. You can also hear a voice, that of Galadriel, embodied in the series by Morfydd Clark. It takes up the famous introductory monologue of The Fellowship of the Ring, released in 2001.

Series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power takes place during the Second Age, thousands of years before the events of the movies. The first season will consist of eight episodes, while the second is currently in pre-production, and should begin filming in the spring.

Amazon Prime Video would have invested $1 billion in this ambitious adaptation of the work of JRR Tolkien which should be spread over 5 seasons in total.
