Vivo Y100 goes official in India with color-changing

Vivo Y100 has been launched in India. The device features a glass front and a fluorite AG glass rear shell bonded to a plastic frame. The available colors include Metal Black, Twilight Gold, and Pacific Blue. The fluorite AG glass rear shell has the ability to change color depending on the temperature. Thus the gold turns to orange and the blue turns to turquoise. The black version does not have a color-changing capability. IP54 rating for protection against water splashes and dust is also specified.

The front is adorned with a 6.38-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen delivers a peak brightness of 1300 nits and is HDR10+ certified. There’s a U-shaped notch for the 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. On the rear shell, the camera island houses two equally sized circles vertically aligned in the top-left corner. The upper one houses the 64MP main camera with OIS and the 2MP depth sensor. The lower circle houses the 2MP macro lens and the LED flash.

Vivo Y100 is powered by a 4500 mAh battery supporting 44W fast charging. A MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset tickets under its glass hood delivering 5G connectivity. The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 and supports Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac. It is fitted with a fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. There’s only one RAM+storage version of the model – 8GB+128GB – and it costs INR 24999 – discounted from INR 29999 upon launch. There’s an option for virtual RAM expansion and a microSD card slot (hybrid SIM tray) for storage expansion.
