WhatsApp arrives on iPad, in beta version

As surprising as it may seem, WhatsApp does not offer a version adapted to the Apple iPad. In the summer of 2021, Meta announced that it was planning an adaptation. And then nothing more… But it seems that the developers have not rested on their laurels since a beta version of WhatsApp for iPad, which is also open to the public, has just appeared.

Write and send messages to your friends and contacts from your cell phone and view and access your Whatsapp directly from your computer.

We also learn that the procedure for testing this beta version of WhatsApp on iPad is unfortunately not the simplest. In fact, you have to go through TestFlight, the platform through which Apple offers to test the beta versions of the iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS applications. The problem is that, at the moment, TestFlight is no longer accepting new users and there is not even a waiting list.

WhatsApp on iPad works in companion mode

Those who are lucky enough to be able to install TestFlight and then the beta version will first have to go through an iPhone to activate companion mode in Settings in order to associate their iPad with WhatsApp. Messages will be synchronized between the two terminals and end-to-end encrypted.

Meta therefore seems to have made good progress on this project. However, no information on the availability of a final version of WhatsApp for iPad has been announced.
